Christmas and New Year cottages reduced in price…

Savings on Christmas and New Year cottage holidays in glorious rural or coastal locations have been announced by Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire.

For example, a week in The Cottage – a picturesque period thatched property in the seaside village of Saundersfoot  – now costs £1174 (saving £286) for a week from 22 December or £1374 (a reduction of £336) for seven nights from 29 December.  This listed five-star cottage sleeps eight in four bedrooms and is full of character with an inglenook fireplace, leaded windows and beams.  Short breaks are also available.

Or, in the hamlet of Llanddinog, is No Name Cottage, a carefully converted stone milking parlour with beams, exposed stonework and arched windows tucked away in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.  This spacious property sleeps seven in four bedrooms and has two sitting rooms, both with woodburning stoves.  A three-mile drive leads to the picturesque harbour village of Solva.  A week from 22 December now costs £749 (saving £181), or seven nights from 29 December is now priced at £889 (a reduction of £216.)

And, for those who fancy the luxury of a hot tub in the garden, a week from 22 December in Wilwin – offering superb contemporary accommodation in the village of Maenclochog at the foothills of the Preselli Hills – is now priced at £724 (saving £181), or £880 (a reduction of £220) for seven nights from 29 December.  The property sleeps six in three bedrooms (one en suite) and is surrounded by footpaths, ancient tracks and quiet lanes, perfect for keen walkers and cyclists.  A drive of around 20 minutes leads to the seaside town of Newport or the bustling market town of Haverfordwest.

BIG savings on BIG beachside cottages this Christmas…

Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire has announced large savings on a selection of beachside properties this Christmas, ideal for extended families or groups of friends planning a festive getaway together.

These include Carreg Samson, situated just ten strides from the beach in the little seaside village of Abercastle.  This spacious cottage sleeps eight in four bedrooms and oozes with character and has stone walls and open beams. The well-equipped kitchen and dining room enjoys views across the bay, the perfect place to enjoy Christmas lunch.  Seven nights from 21 December now cost £1069, saving £262.

Tucked away in the sand dunes just yards from the beach at Freshwater East is Merlin House, a stunning, contemporary house sleeping 11 in five bedrooms (three en suite).  It is furnished with iconic modern pieces, carefully mixed with vintage items, and at the front of the house there is a glass-edged decked balcony, plus floor to ceiling glass walls in the open-plan living area, to maximise the glorious sea views.  A week from 21 December now costs £1531, saving £374.

In the historic seaside town of Tenby is Wall Cottage, situated just 50 yards from the sea and offering spacious accommodation for parties of up to 11.  This beautifully furnished house – where guests are welcomed with a bottle of Champagne – has lots of character such as beams and wooden floors, and is the ideal place for a relaxing Christmas break.  Seven nights from 21 December are now priced at £1367, a reduction of £241.

Book early for ‘BIG’ Christmas cottages..

Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire reports that demand for large cottages for Christmas is strong, so is urging large families or groups of friends to book now.

Properties on offer, but not for long, include Craig Yr Haul, a cottage sleeping eight in five bedrooms with spectacular views of Whitesand’s Bay. Highlights include a sitting room with a log burning stove, plus a bedroom with a balcony looking out to sea. The beach and the Coastal Path are only a short walk away, a golf course is nearby and the tiny city of St Davids is within a short drive. Seven nights from 22 December cost £1202.

Another large property with stunning coastal views is Cystanog Fach, a split level house in Saundersfoot, with a first floor sitting room with a decked balcony. It sleeps nine in five bedrooms, two of which are en suite and most enjoying sea views. A short stroll leads to Saundersfoot village with its harbour, sandy beach, pubs and restaurants. A week from 22 December is priced at £1400.

Tucked away in a peaceful location on a working farm in Hayscastle, is Hayscastle Farmhouse, a spacious cottage sleeping 13 in five bedrooms and with two sitting rooms – giving lots of space to spread out – plus a kitchen/diner with a large farmhouse table, perfect for Christmas Day lunch. Guests are welcome to walk in the grounds, with its lake, river banks, duck ponds and badger sets. A ramble through country lanes leads to the local pub. Seven nights from 22 December cost £1102.
