Newly-renovated Barbados hotel ideal for Singles, says Friendship Travel

Sea Breeze Beach House in Barbados re-opens this month after a major renovation.  One of the first UK companies to feature the hotel for 2018 is singles specialist Friendship Travel.

Friendship Travel’s first Hosted holiday at Sea Breeze Beach House takes off on 24 February 2018, with eight, 11 and 15-night holidays available.

February packages start at £2995 to include return scheduled flights, transfers and sole use of a double room for a week-long stay on an all-inclusive basis (drinks, meals, activities and evening entertainment all included).

The holiday is Hosted by an experienced Friendship Travel team member.

The 122-room hotel is on a three-acre beachfront site on Barbados’ lively south coast. Facilities at the hotel include three pools – one is adult-only – poolside Jacuzzis, a choice of restaurants and bars, a spa and beauty salon, fitness centre, and water-sports operation.

“Sea Breeze Beach House is ideal for our Hosted holidays,” says Friendship Travel’s managing director Colum McLornan. “It is small enough to be flexible, for example giving us one large table for dinner each evening, yet big enough to offer a range of facilities and activities, and all within easy reach of St Lawrence Gap and Oistins.”

After February, Friendship Travel’s other 2018 Hosted holidays at Sea Breeze Beach House are in June, September and October.

New for 2018: Sociable Singles’ Holiday in Portugal

Leading singles holidays company Friendship Travel has a new Portugal holiday for 2018. It is based in the coastal town of Olhao within Portugal’s Ria Formosa Natural Park.

This is ‘the other side of the Algarve’: instead of driving west from Faro airport, as most holidaymakers do, Friendship Travel’s guests will be transferred a few miles east to an authentic fishing port on the spectacular tidal estuary.

The package is Hosted by a Friendship Travel team member, and during each seven-night holiday guests enjoy four included excursions: to Faro’s historic centre; to the town of Vila Real de Santo Antonia on the Spanish border; a local cookery school demo; a boat trip around Olhao’s tidal estuary and islands.

Olhau is a wonderfully unspoiled destination. The old town is a warren of cobbled streets lined by 18th century townhouses. There’s a quayside fish market (designed by Gustave Eiffel) and a commercial harbour protected from the Atlantic by a chain of low-lying islands offering beautiful sandy beaches and a haven for wildlife.  A couple of islands are inhabited, with beach bars and watersports for day visitors, with scheduled ferries providing easy access.

Friendship Travel’s groups will be based at the contemporary Real Marina Hotel in ‘new’ Olhau, yet still only 500m along the seafront from the market complex, which means the town’s bars and ice-cream parlours are an easy stroll away.

The sea-facing hotel has a first-floor heated outdoor pool and sun terraces with superb sea views, there’s a spa and indoor pool, a couple of bars and restaurants and 144 rooms.  Friendship Travel guests enjoy sole occupancy of a double room, with free WiFi, air-con and everything you’d expect of a modern four-star.

PRICE

Dates in May, June, September and early October are offered, with prices from £1135. This includes flights from Gatwick (up to 27 other UK/Ireland regional departures available possibly at a supplement), transfers, 7 nights’ accommodation in a smart double room for sole occupancy, with breakfast each day, two lunches and four dinners with wine, four planned excursions and the support of a Friendship Travel Host throughout.
