School’s out? Fab Houses, Great Deals for Families quick off the mark

With many schools breaking up 22 July – earlier for private schools – a quick escape down the M4 is rewarded with the widest choice of Pembrokeshire’s holiday homes says the area’s leading independent agency Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire.

“Families able to pack their bags for a holiday starting 19 or 20 July, and 26 or 27 July can spread out in a fabulous property – and pick up a bargain – before the main season starts,” says managing director Matthew Evans.

For example, 3 The Glen (ref 43091) is a tardis of a house, one of three set just yards from Saundersfoot’s sandy Glen Beach. Extended and beautifully renovated, it offers light-filled open-plan living and four bedrooms for maximum flexibility. Seven nights arriving 20 July is now £2335 for up to eight people, saving a massive £584. It is also available for a week from 27 July – currently at full price of £2919 and is fully-booked in August.

Ramsey View (ref 33338) on the edge of Solva is a self-contained wing of a Georgian country house which offers superb sea views across St Brides Bay and extensive shared grounds where children can let off steam. Light, high rooms and contemporary furnishings make for a stylish family home. Three bedrooms, including a superb master, sleep up to six people. Act quickly to book a week starting 5 or 12 July at the discounted rate of £680 (saving £120), while the weeks starting 19 or 26 July are £1199.

For smaller families, Puffin Cottage (ref 43513) has good availability because it is new to the market. Set on the water’s edge at Pembroke ferry, this small but beautifully-presented cottage has two bedrooms to sleep four. The Ferry Inn opposite offers good food, and the shingle foreshore is just yards from the glass-walled patio. A week’s rental at the end of July is superb value at £840.
