Inspired by RHS Chelsea? Ireland’s Garden Show Blooms 31 May

After Chelsea, gardeners suffering withdrawal symptoms can hop across the Irish Sea to enjoy bloom: Ireland’s biggest garden event, expected to attract more than 120,000 visitors to Dublin’s Phoenix Park over five days (31 May – 4 June

There are eight major show gardens by Irish designers to enjoy, clever ‘postcard gardens’ on a domestic scale, an exciting sculpture garden, and a vast nursery and floral marquee.

Bringing plants from Ireland into the UK needs no special permissions, and visitors taking their car on Irish Ferries can shop ‘til they drop for plants and garden accessories (plus crafts and food), packing it all into the car with no ‘excess baggage’ charges to worry about.

Tickets for Bloom are €20 for advance bookings, €25 on the gate.

Get there with Irish Ferries from £274 return for a car and two adults, or ask Irish Ferries Holidays to package up Dublin hotel accommodation starting from £546 per couple, for a three-night B&B break including ferry crossings.
