New for 2018 from Vintage Travel: villas on the tiny Greek island of Ithaca

Villa specialist, Vintage Travel, continues to expand its portfolio of properties in Greece and is delighted to announce that the tiny island of Ithaca – just 18 miles from top to tail – is making its debut in 2018.

Squeezed between Kefalonia and the mainland, this laid-back island is home to glorious beaches, pretty harbour villages and ancient ruins, along with excellent hiking and cycle trails and scuba diving.

Properties on offer include Nereus, a welcoming country house in an unspoilt location whilst remaining close to the coast and the island’s capital of Vathy, with its selection of shops, bars and tavernas.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms (one en suite) and its elegant open-plan air-conditioned living area has a high beamed ceiling and exposed limestone walls.  In the grounds of Mediterranean shrubs and plants, there is a private swimming pool, dining and sun terraces and a built-in barbeque.  Seven nights in 2018 start at £588, increasing to £2228 in peak season.

In the north of the island is Alexandra, set on a hillside surrounded by olive groves with far reaching views of the Ionian Sea and just 850 metres from the village of Stavros.  This eye-catching property, which sleeps four in two bedrooms (one en suite), has crimson shutters and exposed stonework and internally a high ceiling and galleried landing lends to a fresh and airy feel.  In the grounds there is a private swimming pool, sun and dining terraces and a built in barbeque.  A week in 2018 starts at £668, rising to £2448.

Villa rental includes return taxi from Kefalonia airport to the ferry port and ferry crossing as foot passengers to/from Ithaca.

Flights and car hire can be arranged by Vintage Travel on request.
