Or, in the hamlet of Llanddinog, is No Name Cottage, a carefully converted stone milking parlour with beams, exposed stonework and arched windows tucked away in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.  This spacious property sleeps seven in four bedrooms and has two sitting rooms, both with woodburning stoves.  A three-mile drive leads to the picturesque harbour village of Solva.  A week from 22 December now costs £749 (saving £181), or seven nights from 29 December is now priced at £889 (a reduction of £216.)

And, for those who fancy the luxury of a hot tub in the garden, a week from 22 December in Wilwin – offering superb contemporary accommodation in the village of Maenclochog at the foothills of the Preselli Hills – is now priced at £724 (saving £181), or £880 (a reduction of £220) for seven nights from 29 December.  The property sleeps six in three bedrooms (one en suite) and is surrounded by footpaths, ancient tracks and quiet lanes, perfect for keen walkers and cyclists.  A drive of around 20 minutes leads to the seaside town of Newport or the bustling market town of Haverfordwest.
