Record 2016 sales recorded by Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks in Devon

Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks reports that it has enjoyed a phenomenal 2016 season, with combined bookings – for both accommodation and camping and touring – being 9% up  on last year.

Said sales and marketing director, Kevin Darvill:  “Over 2,500 more families have stayed on our Parks since the start of the 2016 season and, although we have seen a 2% increase on repeat bookings, our holidays now appeal to more new customers as we broaden our range of accommodation.

“Our accommodation was occupied at 99.8% throughout the school summer holidays and, as many customers booked earlier this year, we have not had to lower prices to fill late space and for this reason Brexit had no real impact on bookings.

Darvill continued:  “This increase in growth is a result of the continued investment over the last six years in new facilities, new activities, new entertainment and new accommodation including our new Surf Lodges, which have enjoyed an occupancy level in excess of 90% since they became available from May half-term.

“We have also observed that more customers are now booking with their mobile phones and we have seen an 84% increase in the number of people visiting our website by this method which now accounts for 52% of all visits.

“Looking ahead to 2017, bookings are already 64% up on this time last year – which in itself was a record – and we are urging customers to book as soon as possible to get their choice of holiday and not wait for a late deal that may never come.  For bookings made by 31 October, this year’s prices will be held for next year, an early booking incentive of up to 30% off applies and a low deposit of just £40 – plus free holiday protection cover and free amendments – will secure the chosen holiday.”

Concluding Darvill said:  “2016 has been a superb year for Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks.  Not only have we enjoyed record sales and excellent customer satisfaction levels, but Woolacombe Beach received the huge accolade of being voted Britain’s Best Beach by TripAdvisor for the second consecutive year.

“However, we have no plans to rest on our laurels; a further £2.5 million will be spent on new accommodation over the winter months.”
