Yorkshire Cottages now offers Glamping!

Yorkshire Cottages, the county’s leading holiday cottage agency, has signed up its first glamping options, in the form of three luxurious Shepherd’s Huts on a working farm near Filey.

The agency already promotes almost 1,500 ‘bricks and mortar’ holiday cottages across the county, but these are the first glamping-style properties to be offered to guests.

“They are utterly charming, but it is the sheer quality of these properties that convinced me we should take them on,” says Debbie Wibberley, regional manager for Yorkshire Cottages.

“Each hut is beautifully presented, and each also has an outdoor hot tub. One of them, The Swaledale, even has its own en-suite shower and loo, while the other two share a well-designed ‘external’ shower/wc just 20 yards from the huts,” says Debbie.

The Shepherd’s Huts are on Edward and Mandy Lindley’s farm just outside Burton Fleming in the rolling Yorkshire Wolds. This is great walking and cycling country, and the village pub is just a quarter of a mile away. Local attractions range from the RSPB centre at Bempton Cliffs to Flamborough Head, Burton Agnes Hall and the beaches at Hunmanby Gap, Filey and Bridlington.

The Shepherd’s Huts each sleep two adults and are the perfect choice for a quirky and romantic break (babies and children are not accepted).  With electric heating, the huts are offered year-round and while the kitchen area has a fridge, cooking facilities consist of a gas-fired BBQ outside each hut, where there is also a fire-pit and the private hot tub.

A continental breakfast is provided for all guests free of charge, with the option to have a Yorkshire farmhouse breakfast delivered at extra charge (£10 per person).

The Shepherd’s Huts, which are all named for sheep breeds, are The Lincoln Longwool (ref UK2065), The Blue Texel (ref UK2066) and The Swaledale (ref UK2067).   A three-night short break this autumn costs from £507 for two people.
